The modern dating scene isn't always portrayed in a positive light. In a world of swiping and sexting, it can be all too easy to believe that romance is dead while hookup culture reigns supreme. But don't despair just yet, as James Corden and Cher are here to show a sweeter side to online matchmaking.
During Thursday night's Late Late Show, James joined the music icon for an updated version of her and Sonny Bono's classic song "I Got You Babe." The new title is, of course, "I Got You Bae," and it should absolutely become the official anthem of 21st century dating.
Cher starts things off with a new version of the original opening: "They say we're young and we don't know / How to find love without using your phone."
"Well, I don't know if all that's true," sings James (who is also dressed as Cher — it's a long story), "'cause you swiped me, and baby, I swiped you."
The song goes on to make everything from eggplant emojis to "Netflix and chill" seem so much more romantic. Be prepared to start singing it in your head the next time you match with someone on your app of choice.
