The Beauty and the Beast cast has been having quite a bit of fun in the days leading up to movie's release, from prank phone calls to silly auto-tuned duets. So it was only a matter of time before they teamed up with James Corden on The Late Late Show.
Sure enough, last night Corden premiered another installment in his Crosswalk the Musical series. Previous productions have included fellow Disney musical The Lion King. This time, Corden recruited Beauty and the Beast stars Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, and Josh Gad to perform some of the movie's most iconic scenes in an unconventional location — the crosswalk outside of CBS during red lights.
Unfortunately, Emma Watson wasn't available to play Belle, so the show had to settle on the next best thing: James Corden. After plenty of rigorous rehearsal, he and the cast — including quite a few hardworking background performers — put on a truly one-of-a-kind production.
Of course, the show wasn't without its challenges — particularly when the stoplight turned green. "That was tough," Josh Gad admitted at one point, "because you want to be welcoming. You want to say, 'Be our guest!' But at the same time, you kind of want to say, 'Stay there! Don't run me over!'"
