11 Introverts Share How They Met Their Spouse

"Same way every introvert makes his intentions clear, the mixtape. The one true mating call of the socially awkward."

They may enjoy spending time alone, but plenty of introverts meet people they want to spend the rest of their lives with. Introverts often feel drained by social situations and energized by solitude. While some are shy and prefer to avoid gatherings as much as possible, other introverts socialize easily. Despite the stereotypes associated with introverted people, there are plenty of differences between them.

Some may assume that because of their personalities, many introverts have difficulty dating and being in long-term relationships. But a recent Reddit thread shows that's not always the case. Reddit user PsyRockFan21 asked, "Introverts, how did you meet your spouse?"

The responses are filled with an interesting mix of meet-cutes — in the same way that many other "how we met" threads would be these days. Meeting online or through a dating app may seem like an obvious choice for an introvert and many responses on the thread reflected this. But plenty of extroverted people have met thanks to the Internet, too.

The thread also included tons of mutual friend stories as well as couples who met at bars, at work, or through hobbies. It just goes to show you that when it comes to love, you never know who or how you might meet the right person — regardless of your personality type.

Scroll through to read some of the sweet stories of how introverts met the loves of their lives.
