This Video Of A Body Farm Will Make Your Spine Tingle
Definitely not for the faint of heart.
A body farm is a place where scientists study dead bodies — or, specifically, they study what happens to our bodies after we die. The more we know about how the body decomposes, the more information we can glean from a corpse, and as anyone who's ever seen the TV show "Bones" will know, this is especially important in law enforcement when trying to figure out if and how a crime was committed.
The sprawling, 27-acre Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State University, located at Freeman Ranch in San Marcos, TX is the biggest of the five body farms operating in the United States. This video takes you on a tour of this fascinating — if slightly macarbe — facility, and teaches you a bit about this field of research.
Warning: this is pretty graphic stuff.
