Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, And Other Leading Ladies Share What They Hope They'll Be Remembered For

Lupita Nyong'o has the best one.

What do you want to be remembered for?

Vanity Fair posed this question to some of the most influential women in Hollywood. Their inspired responses remind us all of the struggles women have gone through in the past, the work being done in the present, and the hope for the future.

"I want young women, in particular, to know you can stand up for yourself and fight for what you believe in, and still work," Jane Fonda says. "This is not the '50s anymore."

The opportunities for women have certainly come a long way since then, but many of these actresses hope to continue to shake up the industry.

Brie Larson, for instance, wants to redefine beauty in her lifetime. "Movies used to intimidate me because women were so beautiful in them and so I think part of my gift to it is I want to show a different side of beauty," she said.

Watch what some of Hollywood's other leading ladies had to say about their legacies in the video above.

And, in case you haven't seen it yet, check out how stunning all of these influential actresses are in latest issue of "Vanity Fair." The photo was shot by world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz.
