Donna Stevens, an Australian photographer, moved to Brooklyn back in 2013 just in time for the polar vortex in NYC.
"New to New York, not having our own apartment and schedule, we spent more than our usual amount of time indoors," Stevens told A Plus. "My son soon developed an obsession for Netflix and our iPad."
This was how Stevens came up with the idea for her latest project, titled Idiot Box. In it, Stevens aims to explore the darker side of our love for technology in a playful yet eye-opening way. The series features photos of kids, all snapped while they're watching TV. Each and every kid seems to be completely hypnotized by what they see, which makes us question the role of TV in our children's lives.
"Should we exhibit more caution about the role of technology in our children's lives?" the photographer asks in the official statement she sent to A Plus.
