One Illustrator Is Handwriting Timeless Movie Quotes Every Single Day For A Year

"Alright! Alright! Alright!"

Artist and designer Ian Simmons decided to create "365 Days of Hand Lettered Movie Quotes," illustrated in the spirit of the films he chooses. Every day, for a year, he will write and design the project.

Simmons tells A Plus in an email that his love for handwriting and films can be attributed to his father. But "it was my brother... who inspired me to take up this crazy endeavor. He actually challenged me to do this, and it's been incredibly rewarding," says Simmons.

Simmons explains that he chooses quotes at random, or takes suggestions from his following on social media. Additionally, if he has a "strong attachment" to a particular film, or if hearing a quote sparks an instantaneous mental picture, he'll use that as inspiration.

But Simmons also assures us that every quote featured in the project comes from a film he loves.

At the moment, Simmons, a husband and a father with another day job, says he's focusing his creative energy solely on this quote project.

"The response to this has been so positive and enormous that I haven't had time to think much further beyond 'What's today's quote?'"

And at just five weeks into the project, we can't wait to see what else he has in store for us.
