The Houston Astros lost their chance at going to the World Series after a humbling 7-2 defeat to the Kansas City Royals in game five of the division series, but Astros bullpen catcher Javier Bracamonte gave every baseball fan something to cheer about with his incredible thoughtfulness in the moments after the game.
Kansas City fan David Dahmer, who was at the game, captured Bracamonte emptying his duffel bag before heading to the locker room... and giving his game gear away to kids in the stands. Dahmer posted pictures of Bracamonte's kindness to his Facebook page.
"He threw them his hat, batting gloves, his chest protector, his chin guards, tootsie pops and every baseball he could find which was about 25 balls," Dahmer wrote, adding that, "When he was done he threw his bag over his shoulder, clapped for all of us and wished us good luck the rest of the way. It was so cool to see someone showing kids how it's supposed to be done. I was sitting there just shocked. After getting heckled all night he showed us what he is all about.. What a great guy. I'll definitely be rooting for him from now on."
It's not the first time that Bracamonte's classiness has been noted.
Houston's ABC13 notes a tweet from fan Andy Nelson about Bracamonte playing catch with some young Royals fans earlier this month.
