Are you #ReadyForHillary … to post #ThrowBackThursday pics? Well, you better get ready, because Hillary Clinton just joined Instagram. The former secretary of state posted her first photo to the social network on June 10. Her bio reads, "Doting grandmother, among other things. #Hillary2016." And now, one of those "other things" is Instagram user. Thus far, Clinton has posted just one photo on the site: a cheeky image of a row of pants suits in red, white and blue, followed by the comment "Hard choices." (Hard Choices is the name of her 2014 memoir.)
At the moment, the presidential hopeful has less than 30,000 followers, but we expect that number to skyrocket over the next few days. Clinton's entry into social media follows on the heels of President Obama's announcement that he was joining Twitter a few weeks ago. Other political entities also have strong social games: the TSA's Instagram feed, full of illegal items agents have removed from airport baggage, is pretty unbelievable. The CIA also goes for humor with most of its tweets.
Considering that many of Clinton's supporters are millennials, it only makes sense that she would roll out an online presence in the months leading up to her presidential run.
