After Hillary Lost The Election, Thousands Of Women Have Been Motivated To Run For Government Positions

Silver lining.

Hillary Clinton may have lost the 2016 presidential election, but there is a massive silver lining — women everywhere have been inspired to run for office. In fact, 4,500 have started training for government positions since Hillary's loss. This is so important given the lack of female representation in government. Women currently make up less than 20 percent of Congress, according to the video above.

Even more exciting is that research shows that once women decide to run for office, they have as much chance of getting elected as a man.

"If we want an effective country, we're not going to get there unless women's voices are at the table," She Should Run Co-founder and CEO Erin Cutraro told The Huffington Post.
