Little Boy Makes Emotional Plea To Save The Planet

From the mouths of babes

When Allie Hall picked up her young son Henry from school recently, he was very upset. There are many reasons small children leave school crying: perhaps he got in trouble, a friend was rude, an item was lost, or he sustained a minor injury, but Henry's tears were different.

He was crying because of the destruction of the environment.

Henry's words were so strong that she began filming him and posted it on Facebook under the title, "Emotional Environmentalist."

"The planet is going to be wrecked," Henry sobbed. "People are just being rude to it."

As the video continues, Henry talks mournfully about littering and deforestation, which have direct consequences for wildlife.

Within the comment section of the video, Allie said she thinks Henry watched a video of a bird eating plastic, which clearly had a strong effect on the young boy. As he continues, he gets increasingly frustrated that people could be so careless about something so important.

"I could just call them dumb people!" he continued. "Or maybe even a bad word, the 's' word!"

His mother confirmed in a Facebook comment that, like so many other children Henry's age, the "s" word he's referring to is "stupid."

Watching Henry get so upset is completely heartbreaking but it is completely motivational. What kind of world are we leaving behind for our children? We all need to listen to Henry and do better to protect it.

Though Henry might not be old enough to run around, yelling in people's ears to stop harming the environment, he is already making a big impact by noticing this injustice and calling it out. We should all join him in helping to preserve our planet, as it's the only one we have.

In the words of The Lorax: "UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."

Thanks for caring, Henry!
