Woman's Heartfelt Note To Baristas Is A Lesson In Doing The Most For Others

"That was literally the most you could have done for me and I am so grateful for your kindness."

A little bit of kindness can go a long way for someone who's having a terrible day.

A few days ago, an employee from Dutch Bros Coffee in Eugene, OR posted a thank you note on Reddit that he and his co-workers received from a woman who stopped by the day before to get her favorite beverage.

Unfortunately, she was having a pretty bad morning. According to her letter, she had recently found out that her boyfriend has a pregnant wife who she knew nothing about. To make matters worse, she also works with her boyfriend. Understandably, she had a hard time sleeping the night before and was extremely upset that she'd have to see him at work the following day.

So, she figured she'd need a cup of coffee to help get her through it. Little did she know, she'd get a little more than that.

"Imagine going to your favorite coffee spot, ordering your favorite drink, having the team listen to your stupid problems," she wrote in the note. "[They] make sure that your drink is the best damn White Coffee Kicker you've ever had, then tell you it's free."

Considering her note started by saying "you are too good for this world," it's safe to say the kind gesture from the staff at the coffee spot meant a lot to her.

"I ugly cried the whole way to work. That was literally the most you could have done for me, and I am so grateful for your kindness," she wrote. "I'm sorry I busted out in tears when you were nice to me. Please accept this seed paper as an apology and grow love with it."

Seed paper, for those unfamiliar, is a type of handmade paper embedded with wildflower, herb, or vegetable seeds. The seeds in the paper can germinate and grow into plants when planted in soil.

Her story shows that sometimes "doing the most" is just listening to someone who needs to be heard. The baristas couldn't change her circumstances, but they could take a few minutes to hear her out. They made sure her coffee was made perfectly and, because they were able to, they offered it to her free of charge. Sometimes, we don't realize how much power we have to do something small for someone else who needs a little bit of brightness in their lives.

Let's hope one of the baristas plants that seed paper and grows it into something beautiful as a result of this woman's ugly situation. But, even if they don't. their kind gesture has already inspired people to be a little nicer.
