Women Share Own Experiences With Sexual Harassment On Twitter After Weinstein Allegations

"When did you meet YOUR Harvey Weinstein?"

On October 5, thNew York Times published a damaging report detailing nearly three decades of previously undisclosed sexual harassment allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The allegations came from various current and former employees of Weinstein's, as well as actresses including Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan.

In a statement to the Times, Weinstein announced he'd be taking a leave of absence from his position as co-chairman of The Weinstein Company to "deal with this issue head on" and expressed regret over his alleged past actions. "I appreciate the way I've behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it," he said in a statement. "Though I'm trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go." (Weinstein has since been let go from The Weinstein Company.)

Just hours after the Times article was published, Canadian writer Anne T. Donahue took to Twitter to ask her 40,000 plus followers when they met their "Harvey Weinstein." In other words, Donahue was asking for stories of sexual harassment in the workplace. She got the ball rolling by recounting an inappropriate comment directed at her by a former boss.

Since making the request yesterday afternoon, Donahue has received upwards of 2,300 replies illustrating just how rampant and common sexual harassment is. Take a look at some of the stories below:

Though Donahue asked for instances of sexual harassment in the workplace, many women wrote of even earlier accounts of sexual harassment that occurred at school, at the hands of relatives, or elsewhere.
