Harnaam Kaur is a body confidence activist. She also speaks out against bullying. But it wasn't always this way.
Kaur has a condition called polycystic ovary syndrome which can cause excess hair growth. As a result, she was the victim of bullying all through primary and secondary school. This led to self-harm and she thought about taking her life.
But Kaur decided to take all the energy she was putting into self-hatred and direct it to learning to love and accept herself. Over time, she began to change her thought process.
"I learned to live my life the way I see fit, instead of living life in regards to rules and regulations. I think now it's more about as a woman I stand for what I am and I don't think women need to look a certain way to be labeled as a woman. You can look like what you want," she told the hosts of British talk show "This Morning."
Watch Harnaam Kaur bravely share her story of body empowerment in her own words below.
A powerful message for anyone who's ever felt unhappy with a part of their body. (That covers just about all of us.)
