Big news for fans of '90s SoCal ska bands and/or ginormous televised singing competitions: Gwen Stefani will be a coach on The Voice again next season. The No Doubt singer will step in for Christina Aguilera, who has decided to sit out the upcoming round of the show (though we're sure she'll be back in her coach's chair at some point down the line). Mainstays Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as last season's winner Pharrell Williams, will all also be returning to The Voice when season 9 premieres in September. Stefani has coached once before, during season 7.
As she told BuzzFeed, "I'm coming back and I'm so excited! I cant believe I get to return to The Voice. It's so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I'm looking forward to working again with Adam, Blake and Pharrell. I love those guys."
Shelton, who won the last time Stefani was a Voice coach, added, "Adam, Gwen, Pharrell and I had a blast together in season 7 and I'm excited we're back together again. They are all so talented but I'm pretty damn excited about another winning season for Team Blake." Don't get too cocky, mister. Stefani was new to the show last time she faced off against the other Voice veterans. But now that she has some experience under her belt, don't be surprised if she takes the whole thing.
Welcome back, Gwen!
