Man Films Ground Actually Separating During Earthquake In Japan
He's lucky he lived to tell this story.
When it comes to natural disasters, it can be tough to understand their gravity and their scope without actually experiencing it first hand.
Back in 2011 when a massive magnitude 9 earthquake hit northeastern Japan, one man filmed the event from a park. In a short video from his phone, you can actually see the earth separating, releasing what looks like water, and then closing back up. It's fascinating and terrifying all at once.
IFL Science resurfaced this video today, but we went ahead and found one that has better resolution. Let us know what you think, and be sure to submit any amazing footage of nature that you might have!
