It's been a wild summer for America's Got Talent contestant Grace VanderWaal. The 12-year-old singer charmed the country week after week with her original songs accompanied by a ukulele. Then, last Wednesday, she was announced as the winner of $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas.
At her audition, judge Simon Cowell compared Grace's talent to someone pretty big in the music industry these days. "I think you are the next Taylor Swift," he told her. Grace later told Us Weekly that the comparison was "truly a blessing."
On Friday, that blessing got even bigger when she received a very special delivery — a bouquet of flowers from Taylor herself. Grace shared video of her excited reaction on Twitter. "Taylor Swift sent me these!" she shouts while jumping up and down.
She thanked Taylor in the tweet, writing how "honored" she was to receive the gift, and Taylor herself retweeted it. We have a feeling that might have inspired even more screaming, and we couldn't really blame her.
Grace is proving she's similar to Taylor in more ways than one by sharing the charitable plans she has for her $1 million winnings. In addition to going on Treehouse Masters to build the treehouse of her dreams, she told People she wants to donate to a music charity.
