It's no secret that an honest, heartfelt compliment can have a positive effect on those we love — so why don't we do it more often?
In a new video for Glamour magazine, part of its series of "intimacy exercises," people in various types of relationships are tasked with complimenting each other on camera. First, each participant writes down their compliments for their partner before reading them out loud.
For Zoe and Taner, a couple currently dating, the exercise proves to be an emotional one.
"I don't think I've ever met someone more thoughtful," Zoe begins. "Taner will take the time to write a note, buy me a little snack, or simply show up unannounced to say hello."
Later, Zoe realizes how much she loves Taner, adding: "I guess I never knew how much I could love someone. And I just love you a lot."
And for Kim and Andy, who's relationship is "complicated," the exercise sparks a kiss.
