Gisele Turned Tom Brady’s Super Bowl Loss Into A Lesson In Sportsmanship For Their Kids

"You have to let someone else win sometimes."

The New England Patriots might not have gone home as Super Bowl winners this year, but that didn’t stop model Gisele Bündchen from using their loss as an opportunity to teach her children an important life lesson.

Bündchen, who also happens to be quarterback Tom Brady’s wife, comforted her 5-year-old daughter Vivian, 8-year-old son Benjamin, and 10-year-old stepson John from Brady’s previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan, after Vivian and Benjamin cried about the team loss, according to USA Today.

Although the Philadelphia Eagles had never won the Super Bowl, Bündchen tried to simplify the situation, and told her children that the team hadn’t won “in a million years” and the team had won “just this time.”

“Daddy won five times,” Bündchen said. “They never won before. Their whole life, they never won a Super Bowl. You have to let someone else win sometimes.”

As she continued to explain the Patriots’ loss, Bündchen used the spirit of good sportsmanship to show her children that you don’t always have to be a winner to succeed.

“Sometimes you have to let other people win,” she said. “… We have to share. Sharing is caring.”
