For several months, the Ghostbusters reboot has seen a steady stream of hype through tidbits here and there. First it was the main cast on set early in the shooting schedule. Then it was director Paul Feig tweeting pictures of the team's proton packs, uniforms, and Ecto-1 car. Then the four leads popped up at a children's hospital in Boston in full costume.
Speculation over the film and its gender-switching of most key roles — including Chris Hemsworth as the receptionist — has been at a high for a while now, but it couldn't really reach full potential until actual footage made its way onto the Internet. Well, here we are.
The trailer is more than two and a half minutes long, showcasing Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones' signature styles of humor and setting the stage for what looks like a pretty close-to-form replica of the original film, save for its modern-day New York and more advanced CGI ghosts.
Watch and get hyped for yourself:
The film officially hits theaters in about four months — July 15.
