This Teen's Parents Threw Her A Coming Out Party When She Opened Up About Her Sexuality

The 17-year-old's family showed her the meaning of acceptance.

17-year-old Kinsey Ratzman of New Jersey might have been a little nervous when she came out to her parents this June. She quickly found  they were eager to show their support, however, embracing her for who she is and celebrating her courage with acceptance and love.

Ratzman followed up by coming out to friends and followers on Instagram.

A week later, her parents threw her a surprise "coming out" party.

According to BuzzFeed News, her parents sent her to the mall with her cousin. When she returned, she found they had prepared a feast, complete with a Pride-themed cake.

As her story continues to go viral, she's taking it all in stride.

A simple rainbow-colored slice of cake can help spread so much positivity. Good job, parents.
