Vicious 'Game Of Thrones' Political Ads Make Trump And Clinton Look Like Amateurs

Face it, politics is war carried out by other means.

The creators of Game of Thrones have tapped into the undercurrent of discontent in the American election cycle and leveraged its power to popularize an ad campaign for the show's Season 6 digital HD release.

The campaign, which urges fans to vote in a mock election at for one of four allied couples to sit on the Iron Throne, has so far attracted over 19 million voters.

The choices are:

Cersei Lannister/Qyburn

Daenerys Targaryen/Tyrion Lannister

Jon Snow/Lyanna Mormont

Petyr Baelish/Sansa Stark

With the exception of Cersei Lannister/Qyburn, who've captured a measly 2 percent of the vote, each ticket is within 2 points of each other, with Jon Snow and Lyanna Mormont leading with 34 percent.

The video campaign and accompanying attack ads are all fantastic, but Cersei Lannister's really captures the ruthlessness of her clan, particularly when it comes to skewering — no pun intended — her opponents with an attack ad.
