Four episodes in, Game of Thrones season 6 is staking its claim as the most epic season yet. We've seen a certain someone come back to life, another certain someone burn her sexist enemies to death, a heartfelt family reunion, a not-so-heartfelt family reunion, and much, much more. For the first time in the show's history, the chess pieces finally seem to be moving in a direction that suggests the endgame is near, and as such, it's time to start counting the numbers in the massive war to come.
Luckily, thanks to some number crunching by Redditor 89Dragon89, we have some solid estimates as to how big each potential army in Westeros and Essos really is. Even better, Mashable has used those estimates as a launching point for an infographic that shows us what the true stakes are for this mythical world we've become so attached to.
Take a look:
Mashable points out that there are definitely some numbers missing, like the King's Landing army and the various armies of the North whose loyalties are somewhat up in the air. So Daenerys' crew at the moment seems to be the biggest of the living, having ballooned in size upon her assumption of control over the Dothraki.
As the chart points out, though, it's still nothing compared to the massive swath of undead gathering strength beyond the wall. The obvious implication here is that if all the living don't unite against the White Walkers, they won't stand a chance.
