An Instagram Troll Came For Gabourey Sidibe But All She Could Offer Was Prayer

"You have my attention and my concern."

We've learned how to master the art of responding to haters and trolls on social media from celebrities such as Amy Schumer to Zendaya — and now Gabourey Sidibe is teaching (yet another) important lesson, too. The Difficult People and Empire star responded to one Instagram user with kindness, love, and — of course — an invocation of the Lord.

It all started when Sidibe was out for a girls' night over the weekend with Orange is the New Black's Danielle Brooks and Refinery29's Sesali Bowen at Junior's Cheesecake in Brooklyn after hitting up the premiere of Netflix's She's Gotta Have It. Her post garnered nearly 70,000 likes to date — but it was two comments that caught her attention.

One user named @bettypowell47 commented twice — with the exact words not needing to be mentioned here. They began by dissing the three women (even though there were four women in the photo) and then continued the assault seemingly after not getting the desired outcome. After the two comments, it appears Sidibe couldn't help but to pull herself together and respond.

This is the post where all the commotion occurred:

"I'm not sure why you're so mad and I don't need to know why, Betty," the 34-year-old started out. "What I do know is that you are clearly suffering and you're probably reaching out in nastiness in order to get some attention and you've got mine.

"You have my attention and my concern and now my hand extended to you in prayer that your situation and your heart is healed," Sidibe added, continuing the "bless your heart"-like magnum opus. "I don't have to know your needs to ask the Lord to provide those needs to you. May you receive this prayer in love and my God's peace and guidance fall on you and life and keep you in love."

As of publication, it appears @bettypowell47 has not replied to Sidibe's lengthy response. In fact, it appears the user has deleted their mean-spirited comments entirely.

Keep on killin' 'em with kindness, Gabby!
