Checking In Everywhere You Go Is No Longer Lame Because You Can Save Kittens

Is there anything better in life than adorable, fuzzy little kittens?

Apparently, some people think there is because instead of raising them with love in a safe home, they throw these furballs out on the street knowing they will end up in shelters and most likely get killed.

Yeah, the reality is grim, we know. But here's a ray of sunshine for you.

The people behind Foursquare, a popular local search and discovery service mobile app, decided to use its influence to make a positive difference in the world. Especially the cat world.

The company teamed up with Alley Cat Rescue, an organization that protects homeless and unwanted cats by rescuing, rehabilitating and handling their adoptions nationally, and launched a wonderful initiative titled #EveryCheckInSavesAKitten.

Until Oct. 15, 2015, Foursquare promises to make a donation to Alley Cat Rescue for every check-in made using its sister app, Swarm.

The check-ins can be made all across the globe. All you need to do is just go to your Swarm app and press check-in. You'll immediately earn a Grumpy Cat badge and your check-in will account for a $0.01 donation to Alley Cat Rescue on behalf of Foursquare.

The money will go toward boarding, fixing and deworming kittens, vaccinating them against diseases and making any other necessary operations.

Turn that frown upside down and go save some kittehs!
