17 Former Bullies Think Back On Their Behavior, Have A Lot Of Regrets

"I may have gotten popular then, but now I'm filled with guilt."

It's a harsh truth we've all had to face at one point or another in our lives: People can be awful to one another. That's an even harder fact to face when you're a kid. About one in seven students in kindergarten to 12th grade is either a bully or has been subjected to bullying.

Bullying can cause many negative effects including serious emotional, psychological, and physical consequences. It can also affect a student's academic achievements, causing them to fall behind in their education. We often hear about these negative effects from the victims of bullying, but less often, we hear from the aggressors themselves.

In a series of confessions using the Whisper app, former bullies anonymously shared their feelings about their mistakes. Some of them even reached out to the people they hurt and apologized.

It's never too late to reach out and atone for your mistakes. A sincere apology can go a long way.
