The Filipino soap opera "Forevermore," is a global hit. Though you might not have heard of it if you don't follow Filipino entertainment, the show has a massive worldwide following. "Forevermore" airs its season finale on Friday, May 22, and viewers are devastated that they won't be able to see the stars of the show, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, on their screens every day. But, there is good news for fans of "Forevermore:" Soberano and Gil are costarring in "The Bet", a Filipino movie that will be released this year.
On "Forevermore," the two actors play a couple who come from different worlds: Agnes, played by Soberano, is a hardworking strawberry farmer, and Xander, played by Gil, is a rich playboy. They meet when Xander crash-lands into Agnes' truck while base jumping — yes, really.
The plot of "The Bet" is not so romantic — though again, Soberano and Gil play a couple. The movie's story, which seems similar to the American film "10 Things I Hate About You," goes something like this: As the result of losing a bet, Drake (Gil) is forced to ask out Sophia (Soberano). After a month of dating, he must confess that their relationship started as a game. Well, that sounds pretty awful. But we have a feeling that it will all work out in the end, because these two have serious chemistry no matter what couple they are currently playing.
