Everyone loves a good food picture. It's even better when there's an adorable toddler involved.
Mike Chau is the man behind the camera, but it's his 2-year-old son, Matthew, dazzling in front and making every food item look 100 times cuter.
Chau used to post pictures of interesting food and places but realized his Instagram followers at the time were less than interested in his food shots.
Interestingly, once he started posting pictures that combined two of his loves, his son and his food, people were hooked. Now FoodbabyNY has more than 2,000 posts with 46,000 followers.
"[I] thought it only natural to combine my love of food with the love of my son, both of which I take photos of constantly," he told A Plus.
Chau's account has it all, great ideas on delicious food and an adorable Matthew who seems to enjoy life and all the interesting food it has to offer. But there is a slight sleight of hand happening behind the scenes.
The 2-year-old foodie, Chau explained, doesn't get to eat all the junk food that's posted.
Instead, he enjoys running around and playing, like most 2-year-olds eager to explore their surroundings. (That's not to say, however, that Matthew isn't fond of chocolate and ice cream.)
The truth is that the best part of the photos isn't the delicious goodies they feature.
Chau enjoys the food and even occasionally restaurant perks, but nothing beats the quality time he spends with his family.
"The thing I love most about the account by far is the amount of time I spend with my wife and son. Both my wife and I have not been apart from Matt for even a day. Sure, we get some free food now and then, and people recognize and are excited to meet us, which is cool, but nothing compares to the fun we have as a family whenever we go out."
