Photo Of Napping Police Officer Holding Hands With His K-9 Partner Shows 'We're In This Together'

#WeAreInThisTogether

As Hurricane Irma's impact on Florida continues to be documented, we are hearing about those effected by the destruction, but we are also hearing about  those coming to their aid. Such positive stories help us remember that during dark times, we are there for each other.

Such a story was shared by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department on social media when they tweeted a photo of Officer Kenneth Somma and his K-9 partner, Eddie, napping together.

The touching photo shows Officer Somma holding Eddie's paw as they nap.

It captures a behind-the-scenes moment from first responders' lives during the hurricane and highlights how both humans and their canines work tirelessly to try and keep residents of the impacted area safe.

The heartwarming image was captioned with the hashtag #WeAreInThisTogether, and it is helping to spread a message of solidarity for all.

Since the photo was posted on September 10, it has been retweeted over 1,600 times and liked over 4,100. Many Twitter users are thanking the first responders for their service and praying that they stay safe.

After the positive response the photo received, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department wrote a thank you post on Facebook.
