Even after three subsequent announcements that the Michigan town is in a state of emergency, Flint, Mich.'s water crisis is still impacting its citizens.
A BuzzFeed reporter approached people in Los Angeles on a hot day and asked if they wanted a free bottle of water — after asking them about their knowledge of the Flint water crisis.
Admittedly, most of the people in the video did not know much about the issue. But they were also very shocked when they saw what the contaminated water looked like.
People in the video were equally stunned to discover that people in Flint have been paying high water bills during the crisis, which has been going on since 2014.
More than 8,000 children have been contaminated by the lead in the water, and the effects might last a lifetime. While numerous people have helped the people of Flint by supplying bottles of water, there is still more to be done.
That is why everyone in the video had a choice: keep their free bottle of water or donate it to the people of Flint.
In a beautiful act of kindness, the participants decided to give their water to the people of Flint.
