We've all been there. We've all had those nights in college when we should have studied but decided to go out partying instead. Procrastinating to this degree can be dangerous, because there's always the chance that there will be the realization that the assignment in question won't be completed on time.
When this happens, there's only a couple of things students usually do:
1) Turn in a partial assignment.
2) Concoct an elaborate story that involves dead or dying relatives in hopes of getting an extension.
3) Turn in the assignment late and receive a lower grade.
And then there are those who just say "screw it" and decide to be honest about why their assignment isn't completed. Patrick Davidson is that kind of student.
In an email exchange that was posted onto Imgur, Davidson was blatantly honest about why he needed an extension.
Here is the email Davidson sent to his professor, because if you don't try, you'll never know.
This level of honesty takes some guts. Not only because he unabashedly prioritized partying over classwork, but because he also offered some personal advice about his hair loss.
In the immortal words of Pepper Brooks, "It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em."
Davidson probably couldn't believe his eyes when he checked his email the next morning.
This was the professor's response:
Based on the fact that the reply came from the phone's sent folder while the initial email was from the inbox, it looks like the exchange (if it's real, and we hope it is) was uploaded by Mr. Martin.
It is not the official position of A Plus to put off doing an assignment until the last minute, and then get trashed the night before it's due, but we can appreciate the student's honesty. Apparently, so did his professor.
Mr. Martin, here's to you!
