This Girl Stood Outside A Bar Holding A Sign. The Reason Will Break Your Heart.

Wow.

On June 22, 2013, Angela Canzani's father, Vincent Canzani, was killed by Matthew Cordle, who confessed to driving drunk and was later sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison.

Cordle's confession, which was recorded and posted as a YouTube video, went viral. The maker of the video, Alex Sheen of the Because I Said I Would project, got together with Angela Canzani last week as she stood outside a bar with a sign.

She stood outside of the bars holding this sign.

Sheen took these photos and posted them to Imgur. He also served as the driver for the evening, shuttling people home with Ms. Canzani.

The pictures tell a story of their own. We are happy to offer you a selection of them:

She didn’t really say much.
Some people didn’t know what to say.
Some people just wanted to give her a hug.
The cops didn’t bother her. Just a head nod of approval.
The first person to take up the offer was 18.
We gave some promise cards to passengers.

Here's a sobering statistic from the CDC: nearly 30 people are killed in the U.S. every day in accidents involving an alcohol-impaired driver. That's about one person every 51 minutes.

Don't drink and drive.
