Watch Dick Van Dyke Deliver A Sunny-Side Up Performance For His Fellow Denny's Customers

He revisited "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

In his 2015 book Keep Moving, actor Dick Van Dyke shared his secret to staying young, writing in part, "If I am out shopping and hear music playing in a store, I start to dance. If I want to sing, I sing."

During a recent breakfast at Denny's in Santa Monica, Calif., Van Dyke honored that philosophy as he and the three other members of his acappella quartet The Vantastix treated fellow diners to a surprise performance of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," from his 1968 movie of the same name.

The 90-year-old Hollywood legend linked to a video of the performance on Facebook over the weekend, writing, "Breakfast at Denny's, with a side of grits makes me want to sing!!"

As Van Dyke and his fellow singers delivered their performance, the video shows customers watching with smiles on their faces and recording the moment on their phones. When the song is over, the restaurant breaks into applause.

Online fans were just as charmed by the performance, with one commenting on Facebook, "Thank you for continuing to brighten the world with your music, your smile, your 'you.' "

If you want your own opportunity to see a live performance, Dick Van Dyke and The Vantastix will be performing for one day only in Cerritos, Calif., on August 28.
