15 Comics That'll Remind Every Introvert They're Not Alone

Anyone else hoping for #3 tonight?

Introverts experience the world differently than extroverts. They're more likely to be reserved, less likely to make impulsive decisions, and more likely to thrive spending time alone than extroverts. Introversion is sometimes treated as inferior to extroversion in our culture, but both personality types are awesome in their own way. So, we love to see glad to see both being celebrated.

That's why we're big fans of self-taught artist Debbie Tung's work. Tung, who shares her work on the site Where's My Bubble?fully embraces her introversion and channels it into her art.

"Before I found out about introversion and my personality type, I thought there was something wrong with me. I've been trying to 'fix' myself since I was a child because I wanted to live up to the extrovert ideal and be accepted," Tung told A Plus in a previous interview. "On the day I took the Myers Briggs personality test and discovered I was an INFJ – that was when I made my first introvert comic. Creating comics became the best way for me to express myself. It helped me to be more open, understand my flaws and take things from a positive and humorous point of view."

But sharing her comics has helped to remind a lot of fellow introverts that they're not alone in the way they feel. Tung's comics have become so popular, her first book Quiet Girl in a Noisy World: An Introvert's Story featuring her work was just released. "The book is a collection of narrative short comics that tell the humorous story of my everyday experiences as an introvert, from parties and working in an office with an open floor plan to dating and true love with an extrovert," Tung said.

She hopes her to send a pro-introvert message to people with her work and show them what it's like to thrive in the world while fulfilling a need for quiet and alone time.
