Dax Shepard Is Pretty Damn Good At Giving Relationship Advice

"What do you think is worse: a high-five or a fist bump?"

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell seem to be synonymous with relationship goals for anyone who knows a few things about the married couple. However, they've both been very candid that it takes a lot of work and effort to develop and maintain a relationship. When Bell did a Reddit AMA a few months ago, she was asked what major piece of advice she'd give other couples

"Try hard. It's uncomfortable, but worth it," she wrote. "Also BE VULNERABLE. No one does it right. So forgive. And then be vulnerable again."

Now, Shepard is helping other people with their love lives by doling out relationship advice of his own. He's previously offered up words of wisdom to the audience at The Ellen Show, but his most recent appearance solidified his spot as our new favorite relationship guru.

One audience member wanted some insight on hooking up with someone who she used to date for a long time. This question reminded Shepard of some advice a therapist had given one of his friends.

"You should put these people into three categories. There are the people you're pursuing for a relationship long-term. There are one-night stands. And there are people who you hookup repeatedly with, but it's going nowhere," he said. "This therapist said the only one that's really unhealthy is number three which is what you're talking about."

"It will stall you out," he continued. "It's too easy, it's too comfortable. It'll prevent you from actually getting in a relationship which I assume that's what you want, but if you don't want that, keep doing it. It is very convenient."

Later, he gave solid advice on what ending a date with a fist bump means, on how to tell a friend who you don't return their romantic feelings, and on whether or not to shave your legs before "coitus."
