How One Fan Got 'Stranger Things' Star David Harbour To Appear In Her Senior Photos

"I get to wear the school sweatshirt and hold a trombone."

Plenty of Stranger Things fans wish they could get a photo with actor David Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper on the popular Netflix series. One such fan, a high school senior named Damaris, recently made that wish come true — with a little help from Twitter.

It started last October, when Damaris tweeted at Harbour asking how many retweets she would need for him to agree to appear in her senior photos. The actor responded with the number 25,000 — adding the condition that he be allowed to wear the school sweatshirt and hold a trombone.

If we learned anything from the "Nugget Boy" saga last year, it's that Twitter is always ready to help somebody make their dreams come true, however unconventional they may be. In this case, 25,000 retweets was a lot more doable than 18 million, and it didn't take long for Damaris to reach her goal — with a little help from Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp.

Harbour responded to the successful campaign by telling Damaris, "Friends don't lie." Then this weekend, we got to see the hilarious results of their photo shoot, which reportedly took place at Netflix HQ in Los Angeles last week.

Both Damaris and Harbour shared the photos on social media. "Voted most likely to hijack someone's high school senior photos 24 years later," Harbour wrote on Instagram, thanking the student and her family, as well as photographer Tommy Garcia, "for making a dream come true and proving my high school classmates right!!"

"She can use them or not use them, because I think they'll be completely ridiculous, but we will allow the internet to see the ridiculousness of me as a very sincere high school student taking senior photos," Harbour told INSIDER in November before the shoot took place.

Damaris also shared some video clips from the day, including the moment she met Harbour, who greeted her by saying, "Hey, what's up? Nice to meet you! This is so hilarious!"

If you ask us, it's also pretty awesome.
