A picture might be worth a thousand words, but in artist David Bayo's case, it's worth a million dots, too.

That's how many (and then some) it took him to painstakingly create "BAUHAUS," a portrait of a woman transforming into a house.

Though the work begins as a light pencil sketch, she comes to life with each additional tiny circle.

The French artist compressed more than 90 hours of precise dot placement into a three-minute "speed drawing" video. On July 2, he posted the video to his YouTube channel, where it has since garnered 50,000 views.

Having previously posted some "speed painting" videos to his channel, his dot-art creation is his first "speed drawing." The online popularity and generally positive response to his video hopefully means it won't be the last.
