This Guy Had The Perfect Reaction To Seeing His Wife's New Haircut

"I have such an attachment to my hair. Seeing things like this is inspiring honestly!"

For so many, hair is a part of their identity. Seriously, a good hair day can go a long way — and a bad one can make people feel pretty damn self-conscious. Your hair can affect your confidence, the way you feel about yourself, and can even signify a major life change.

So, when you decide to take the leap and make a dramatic change with your hair — like say, chop it all off after 20 years of growing it out — you might be a little apprehensive to show it off to your loved ones.

But if Dawne Kirkwood was nervous to reveal her newly shaved head to her husband, she sure didn't show it. Her daughter, Praize Kirkwood, shared a video of her mother unveiling her new look for her dad on Saturday. His reaction was so beautifully sweet, the video went viral on Twitter.

But, before we get to that, here's what Dawne's hair looked like before she took the haircut plunge.

And here's the reveal of her new look.

"So after 20 years of growing her dreads my mom wanted to cut off her hair. She wasn't sure how my dad would react tho .... but this is how he did," Praize wrote on Twitter.

In the video, Praize's father stands with his back turned as Dawne enters in the room. After building up some anticipation, she laughs and instructs him to turn around.

"Oh, wow! You are so hot!" he said, in awe of his wife's new look. "That is so fine. You look like a Hollywood star!"

The tweet has been shared more than 90,000 times and has over 315,000 likes. Many people responded to comment on Praize's dad's supportive reaction to his wife's new haircut — and to join him in complimenting Dawne.

The viral reaction was unexpected by the family, but didn't go unappreciated. "Thank you for all the love you guys give to my parents. I'm so glad i got to share that moment with millions of people," Praize wrote on Twitter earlier today.

Dawne was inspired to start a start a Twitter account of her own. She thanked everyone for their kind responses and shared a few photos of her loving her new hairstyle. "I am not my hair. #freedom #bigchop #guiltfree," she tweeted

We have a feeling she might just inspire a few other people to finally take the plunge and get the haircut they've been nervous to try.
