Daddy blogger Alan Lawrence and his 4-month-old son Rockwell are helping us get in the Christmas spirit this year. Lawrence has been dressing up his son as an Elf on the Shelf, and taking totally adorable photos of him. We can't help but squee with delight.
Never heard of Elf on the Shelf? It's a plush toy that comes along with a children's book, explaining that Santa's elves watch over kids to find out if they've been naughty or nice.
"We have never had an Elf on the Shelf in our home, but the idea has always intrigued me. Parents letting elves in their homes to watch their kids and cause mischief," Lawrence told Buzzfeed. "Then one day, someone told us that Rockwell looked like an elf and the idea came to me. What if a real life elf came to live with us for the holidays, and how would I react in real life to having it show up to live with us?"
The father of six posted the photo series to his blog noting that, much to his surprise, the "random elf" just showed up in his living room during the first week of December. "I've decided to allow him to stay (I don't think I really have a choice) but I am keeping a close eye on him and have decided to document all of days he is here," Lawrence writes on his blog.
