Best part is that you can actually wear MONEY.

Tickle told A+ the idea came from her interest in people's perceptions of value. She was reinforced by her professor at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) to think conceptually about money, value and perceived wealth.

Lauren believes the creator's work makes the piece expensive, not the materials.

"In order to convey my message about labor and what it takes to create an object, I felt I needed to start with a material that already had a value known to the viewer. Then I add further value to the material with my labor, which is time consuming for each piece," Lauren told A+.

Designer says she treats and cuts each element herself by hand with small scissors.

Tickle once converted $350 to a necklace but it wasn't her most expensive piece in terms of labor.

The elegant flowery pieces are actually very sturdy. All the cut-outs are backed with silver and Lauren says that the dollar pieces are pretty durable on their own.

"I love the one dollar bill because there is such a beautiful line quality created with the different hues of green within each element. Also, it's not about using higher denomination bills. It's about using bills that have a beautiful decorative pattern that I feel I can elaborate on," says Lauren.
