Four Years After Tragedy Struck, This Couple Finally Got Their Fairy Tale Wedding

A true fairy tale ending.

A number of tragedies caused high school sweethearts Kelcie and Larry Ragsdale to delay their wedding day, but four years later, they finally got their fairy tale wedding.

A week before he planned to propose to Kelcie in Disney, Larry got hit by a drunk driver, leaving him in a coma for months. And Kelcie's mother passed away three years prior, FOX reported. After three years, in 2013, Larry finally got to propose to Kelcie and with the same ring before the accident.

Kelcie's sister McKenzie quickly set up a fundraising campaign called "Kelcie and Larry's Fairytale Wedding" to give the two their dream wedding. She also created a video of the couples' love story.

"Although Larry didn't get to propose in Disneyland," the video says "he still has the chance to marry his princess in the most magical place on earth. Let's make Kelcie and Larry's dreams come true."

According the PEOPLE, the internet listened. In just 11 days, they raised $20,000.

On September 4, 2014, the Oregon couple wed in Disney thanks to the support of family and friends and a few surprises from Disney and wedding planner extraordinare, David Tutera. The band Train even surprised them with a performance of the song "Marry Me," which Larry played during his proposal.

"It was perfect," Kelcie told PEOPLE. "It was magical. There were just so many exciting things that happened we weren't even expecting."
