When news was announced January 10 that David Bowie had passed away at the age of 69 after battling cancer for 18 months, the world went into mourning. While we are still reeling from the shock of losing such an influential icon, we are also celebrating his great legacy, and effect on pop culture.
Among those paying tribute was Conan O'Brien, who shared some of his favorite moments with Bowie, a frequent guest of his show. Conan opened his segment with a few words about the late musician:
"Obviously this is a very sad day. Everyone found out that David Bowie passed away yesterday. Incredibly sad news. He was on our show several times over the years and the man was always outstanding. People are remembering today what a phenomenal musician David Bowie was and of course that was the case. He was mind-blowing talented, but in my experience, he was always an incredibly nice person, he was fun, he was always funny."
Conan then shared moments of his favorite memories with Bowie, including one clip where he made Bowie sing an impromptu song, written by Conan. It's pretty wonderful to see Bowie rolling with it, and just having a good time.
