For his Top 10 performance on The Voice, Team Alicia star Christian Cuevas didn't have to reach very far back to find his perfect song. He went with Lady Gaga's new single "Million Reasons," which the star herself recently performed at a center for homeless LGBT youth.
Christian has previously proved his talent for taking hits by female vocalists and making them his own. Earlier in the season, he won a battle against fellow contestant Jason Warrior on a powerful cover of Adele's "Hello." His take on Gaga's song Monday night packed just as much of a punch, if not more.
Christian nailed the emotion of the lyrics, letting it build as the song went on, and his voice became stronger and stronger. You'll definitely want to watch until the very end.
The performance even caught the attention of Lady Gaga herself, who tweeted her support:
Christian's coach Alicia Keys could be seen cheering him on from her chair throughout the performance. "I'm so proud of you for this moment, Christian," she told him afterward. "I feel like an artist was born on this stage."
This week marks a double elimination, so tune in Tuesday night to see if Christian makes it to the Top 8.
