Chrissy Teigen Had An Empowering Response To A Twitter Troll's Comments About Money

She only needed two words and one screenshot.

Chrissy Teigen is no stranger to dealing with trolls on social media. Earlier this week, she shared the perfect clapback to one of them on Twitter — and all it took was a screenshot and two simple words.

It started when Teigen humorously shared photo evidence of her dinner falling on the floor, later adding that she ate it anyway. One Twitter user responded, "All you do is eat, sleep, shit, and spend other people's money. My perfect partner." The implication was that "other people's money" referred to her husband, singer John Legend.

However, Teigen was quick to correct the user's assumption. She responded with two words, "my money," as well as a screenshot of a Forbes article naming her No. 3 in a list of the world's highest paid models of 2017. It details her $13.5 million income as also coming from her cookbook, hosting gig at Lip Sync Battle, and cosmetics partnerships.

The tweet served as an empowering reminder that she, like so many other women, is successful in her own right. Teigen received a positive response from many of her followers. Ironically, one user tweeted that it would be "so fitting" for her to change her last name to Legend — after all, that's what she is.

Of course, Teigen doesn't just make her own money — she also spends it in meaningful ways. Last month, she and Legend donated $200,000 to Time's Up in honor of the "heroic" survivors who testified against former Team USA gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, days after he was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for sexual abuse.

Previously, Teigen offered to pay gymnast McKayla Maroney's potential $100,000 fine for breaking a non-disclosure agreement to testify, saying she would be "absolutely honored."
