Chris Evans And Robert Downey Jr. Visit Cancer-Stricken 'Avengers' Fan With Gwenyth Paltrow

Real life, real superheroes.

Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. might be several films into their roles as Captain America and Iron Man, respectively, but that doesn't mean they're too busy to reach out to the fans who need them most.

Not too long ago, the actors' Avengers co-star Gwenyth Paltrow reposted an Instagram of 18-year-old Ryan Wilcox of San Diego making a plea to meet his heroes. In her caption, she offered to drive Evans and Downey straight to Wilcox, and two weeks later, the trio actually did it.

Here they are on their way:

And here are the actors with one of their biggest fans:

Wilcox has been diagnosed with leukemia for a second time, so needless to say the surprise of meeting his heroes in person had to be a big boost in the fight for his life.

"Today @ryanwilcox0303 got a little surprise," read Paltrow's caption on the group photo. "Thank you to the incredible #chrisevans and my better work half @robertdowneyjr for being the men you both are. And thank you to the Wilcox family for your hospitality! #ryanstrong."

Keep fighting, Ryan. You've got strong allies by your side.
