Cheers! Researchers Have Added Beer To Men's Shampoo. Here's Why.

Cheers.

While women hear coconut oil and avocados are two keys to healthy hair, one beauty line for men says it's beer they should really try.

The Research and Development team at Danish beer company Carlsberg, alongside cosmetics producer Urtegaarden, has developed a new collection of shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion that all contain 0.5 liters of Carlsberg beer, according to Mashable.

"We have researched into the subject, and the advice to use beer for hair and skin is older than the Carlsberg beer itself. And Carlsberg was founded in 1847!" VP Mikkel Pilemand tells the publication.

"So you know you get your six pack on one hand with the Carlsberg and then you get your six pack as a shampoo. Why not?"

In a video interview, Zoran Gojkovic, a director for research strategy, prefaces the use of beer by saying that the drink itself is actually one of the healthiest things you can consume — responsibly.

Despite the alcohol and calories, beer contains healthy fibers, proteins, and vitamins, like Vitamin B, which is also good for your skin.

So for the brand's cosmetic series, Senior Regulator Lab Manager Lene Molskov Bech freezes down the beer using liquid nitrogen.

The remaining product contains the carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins that will then be used in the beauty products.

"So you know you get your six pack on one hand with the Carlsberg and then you get your six pack as a shampoo. Why not?" Gojkovic adds in the video.

Cheers to that.
