This Cancer Patient Joked About Getting A Marching Band Escort. Her Niece Took It Seriously.

Right as she finishes her last chemotherapy treatment.

As Ann Trachtenberg was going through chemotherapy, she joked that she wanted to be escorted out of her last session by a marching band — an appropriate celebration for going through such a tough battle.

What she didn't realize is that her niece would take the joke seriously and contact the University of Wisconsin Marching Band to surprise her as she exited the hospital following that final treatment.

Clearly, she was touched by the gesture:
