Eminem once said, "If you had one shot, one opportunity... one moment... would you capture it?"
Lines such as those must have been flowing through amateur rapper Cameron Grey's head when he saw artists Kanye West and Justin Bieber leaving Big Sean's concert at the House Of Blues in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Despite the security surrounding the two stars, Grey approached West in the hopes of performing for him.
At first, security tried to guide the amateur rapper away so that West could duck into his ride and head out.
But 'Ye took a liking to the young man's bravery.
Instead of leaving straightaway, the star took the time out of his night to take Grey up on his offer.
"Rap bars right there," West told him
What happened next is what hip hop fairy tales are made of. Watch Grey's "audition" below.
After listening intently to the serendipitous performance, West asked if the brave amateur would like to start out as an assistant.
The offer clearly excited Grey, who accepted, saying, "I just wanna learn, man."
If only every job interview involved freestyling for your future boss.
In a bit of a cosmic coincidence, this is exactly how Big Sean got signed to Kanye West back in 2009.
Big Sean stopped West outside of a radio station and asked him if he could rap for him. At first, 'Ye denied Sean, but then gave the then-aspiring rapper a grand total of 16 seconds to impress him. That 16 seconds turned into 10 minutes and the rest is history.
"It was like out of the movies. I could hear his personality and character and style in it. He just walked up to me and said a rap and I said, 'I'mma sign you,'" West told MixTape Daily.
We'll see what the future holds for Grey. Perhaps one day he'll be sippin' some chardonnay while listening to Marvin Gaye too!
