When Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce, revealed that she is transgender and would soon be living publicly as a woman, she busted the doors off many stereotypes and assumptions about the LGBT community. Her brave decision to live as her authentic self drew much-deserved praise and is already being lauded as a pivotal moment for the trans rights movement. Now, just over a month later, the former Olympian is stepping even further out of the closet. Caitlyn Jenner appears on the cover of Vanity Fair this month, revealing how she will now appear full-time. And she looks fabulous, of course. The cover shot features Jenner decked out in a white corset, with a half-smile playing across her face. (Seriously, we should all be so lucky to look this good at 65, regardless of gender.)
In a video that accompanies the Vanity Fair article, Jenner makes clear that she's transitioning for herself, not for any sort of media attention or praise. "If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, 'You just blew your entire life,'" she said. Instead, she decided to finally live in a way that outwardly matched how she always felt about herself inside.
Annie Leibovitz took the photos for Jenner's cover shoot. The magazine hits news stands June 9.
