When The 'Broad City' Girls Visited Colbert On 'The Late Show,' Things Got Weird Fast

Rainbow bagels, baby.

When Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show, did you ever envision him shooting lasers out of his belly button in a psychedelic cartoon prominently featuring rainbow bagels? No? Well, clearly you didn't know how far Colbert will go for a joke. Now you do.

Promoting the third season of their hit show Broad City, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer visited Late Show last night to tell Colbert "what's hot on the scene," as he put it. After first explaining that it's cool to not ask what's hot on the scene, the duo got to the meat of the conversation: rainbow bagels. The Brooklyn invention has blown up in recent weeks, with long lines overwhelming its home, The Bagel Store, to the point that it had to close indefinitely.

Luckily, The Late Show got its hands on a few, and Colbert pulled one out to see what the hype was all about. The second he took a bite, he, Jacobson, and Glazer were all transported to an overwhelmingly bright world full of cartoon rainbows, bagels, and animated rainbow bagels. The sketch started out weird but somewhat cute, and while the weirdness increased as it went along, the cuteness disappeared pretty quick.

Sure, why not? Weird is the new funny, right?
